DARTH DELIVERS US FROM DVL AND POWERS TO GLORY!
A lot of hype surrounded this race as new drivers looked forward to the prospect of racing the current Champ at Suzuka. Phantom Fangio had been racing without stabilisers in an attempt to lose his "Go Compare" mantle, Tan Tarquini had knuckled down during this week's practice and Dvl had even created a pretty little sticker for anyone that he took delight in spanking! Darthalainen appeared cool, although even he didn't know whether the confidence in the paddock was a front or if these boys really did know that thaey could win. Welsh Webber was another old hand with an eye on victory and only the fact that Tiger Trulli was driving a Ram kept him from Darth's thoughts. Hunter Hill confirmed his late first appearance but his biggest impact was nipping to the upgrade bay between Qualifying and The Race to change his spark plugs and bolt on a turbo! If there were any nerves in the White Hart Racing Camp, then qualifying certainly quashed any of them as Darth sped to a maximum point pole position and left the field behind by quite some margin. This was great for Darth, but the others sounded disheartened as they lined up for the green flag and race start. Dvl was the only real challenger, but he regretted his car choice and this was evident as only Tiger chased Darth into the first corner. The race may have gone differently if Darth hadn't shut the door going into the first bend, leaving the rolling road block that was Tiger's Ram to hold everyone else up. Phantom vented his frustrations as he was bumped and scraped by the new boy Hunter. Tanagrah remained calm and quiet, but it was Dvl and Welsh that broke free from Tiger's claws the quickest and they both faced a growing distance between themselves and the winner elect, Darth. Hunter soon found out why these drivers spend so much time in the prep bay, as his Clio sunk to the back of the grid and was lapped after only a third of the race completed. He later stated that this was a good thing though and had dedicated much more time to next week's race already...although he was even later seen rolling into his trailer with three pit girls, a can of Fosters and a vietnamese pig! Darth soon caught up with the Tiger-chasing pack and politely thinned things out by overtaking the very professional Tan, much more polite Phantom and approached the desperate Dvl. But, then things turned a little Tim Burton as the entire field of cars made like Chitty and started to fly! Seven or eight laps passed by where the cars were bouncing fifty feet in the air, sinking below the tarmac and pinging from left to right. Darth Eccleston radioed through to The Comeback Kings garage, asking them to stop downloading Sheep Porn and, spookily only minutes later, the fun fair of madness stopped too...? By this time, the field had spread apart and only Phantom and Tanagrah were battling for position. Darth had been coasting since the midway point, Welsh was significantly in second place, Dvl was already looking forward to spanking his stickiness all over Phantom and Tan (!?!?), while Tiger was quietly pleased with lining his van up into a very impressive fourth place. With only a few corners left, Phantom could be heard cursing Tan's chosen line and jump through the final corner, suggesting that he would batter Tan if he does it in front of him. Fortunately, Tan's temprement was cool and he pipped the "phrantic" Phantom to fifth place. Hunter completed the final standings, although not until the sun had gone down and only his hardest core of fan sat patiently in the stands... So, Darth and his team are back at the top, preparing chosen cars once again for next week's race at Sedona Club. But, a returning Blakey, an untethered Tiger, a resurgent AJ and very confident Phantom all lie in wait to have the spotlight on them this time around! This Grand Prix already has the excitement and buzz flowing throughout the Hive Paddock...but with the added spice of competition in the driver's nature, this Season promises to boil all the way through to the end! Round two done and already we shout: Scrrrream if you wanna go faster! |
